  • China’s February 2018 holdings of U.S. Treasuries rose by 0.7% (USD 8.5 bln), the most in six months. However, it cannot be concluded whether China will use its holdings to retaliate against US tariffs, as the trade war between US and China came up in early April.
  • Japan, in comparison, further reduced its holdings in February by -0.6% (USD 6.3 bln).
